Anthropogenic Changes to Canada’s Forest Frontier: 1990–2001
(2010-12-10) This dataset combines seven GFWC anthropogenic change datasets (four previously published and three unpublished) to create a dataset with a similar methodology and time period for a large portion of Canada’s forest landscapes.
Change was generally analysed within the forest frontier portions of the forested ecozones of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan and a small portion of the Northwest Territories. The time period of change was based on satellite image pairs acquired from two major time periods. Time period 1 ranged from 1985 to 1995 and time period 2 ranged from 2000 to 2003, resulting in the change to forest landscapes being within an average 11-year period (1990–2001).
